Reptiles at Risk

Event Date: August 06, 2014

Where: London Children’s Museum
When: 1:00pm

Canada’s reptiles are in trouble! Most of our snakes, turtles and lizards are species at risk. Come learn about them and how you can help. Get up close and personal with some of our scaly friends. You can even touch or hold a live snake!

Children will be presented with a mix of live turtles and snakes, covering topics like how to tell them apart, where they live, what they eat, why they are in trouble, and how we can help. The species will vary but a typical mix for Ontario will include gartersnake, milksnake, ratsnake, snapping turtle, and Blanding’s turtle. This one hour program will include some time at the end for questions, and opportunities for hands-on participation.
